Higher Geography Programmes

FSC programmes are fixed length courses with clearly stated outcomes and links to SQA Arrangement requirements.

Specific programmes have been developed for those studying higher geography to enable teachers to quickly and easily book a fieldtrip, safe in the knowledge that it will be directly related to work taught in the classroom and will contribute to achieving SQA Arrangement requirements.

Three day programme:
Interactions in Physical Environments

This three day programme is designed to meet the needs of the ‘Environmental Interactions’,and ‘Physical Environments’ modules of the Higher Geography syllabus.

  • Geographical sampling methods
  • Data collection using a range of fieldwork techniques
  • Analysis and presentation of data
  • Hydrosphere – upland fluvial systems and processes
  • Lithosphere – upland glacial landforms and processes
  • Atmosphere/Biosphere – soils, ecosystems/habitats and succession, climate change and flooding
