Environmental issues don’t respect subject boundaries, therefore the FSC offer ‘interdisciplinary’ courses combining geography and science to develop understanding in both subject areas.
Eco Adventure - Geography, Science and Outdoor Adventure
FSC Eco Adventure courses combine science and geography with conservation and adventure activities to create a fun learning experience that allows progression in teamworking skills, motivation and personal development.
All of the centres which offer adventurous activities are covered by AALA certification and activities are fully integrated to allow for progression throughout the course.
Most FSC centres are Eco-Centres, which means that there could also be an opportunity to help the centre in its environmental work.
Examples of Eco Adventure water based activities include canoeing, raft building, kayaking, bell boats, dragon boats, snorkeling, surfing, sailing, river walking and land based activities: climbing, abseiling, off road cycling, ghyll scrambling, caving, coasteering, mountain walking, horse riding, orienteering, archery.
