OCR A Three day programme:
You as a Citzen: Investigating a Local Retail Area
Students will investigate the impact of consumer behaviour within a retail environment, which will include primary data collection, to prepare them for the controlled assessment ‘write up’ for Unit A672. There is also the option of conducting a part day study of the impact of ice in a mountain environment, meeting requirements of Unit A671 (Extreme Environments).
OCR B Three day programme:
Rivers Geographical Enquiry and Rural Issues
This programme focuses on preparing students for their Geographical Enquiry (Unit B562) fieldwork focus element of the controlled assessment. Students will explore a river environment, building understanding of the compulsory Theme 1 (Rivers and Coasts) of Unit B563 (Key geographical Themes). There will also be a part day investigation into a local rural settlement developing case study knowledge of settlements and economic activities (Linking to Theme 2 and 4 of Unit B563).
OCR B Five day programme:
Enquiries into Key Geographical Themes
Students will develop a range of enquiry skills in coastal and river environments (linked to Theme 1 of Unit B563) as well as urban and rural human environments linked to Themes 2 and 4 of Unit B563). These studies will be linked to the titles set by OCR. This will give students the option of different write up topics for the controlled assessment as well as ensuring they have the opportunity to revisit and build on their knowledge of the geographical enquiry process in different environments.
