Natural and Human Environment Enquiries
This Programme guides students through an enquiry in a natural environment for the controlled assessment of the Edexcel A specification. Choose between different physical environments to reinforce learning for Unit 2 (The Natural Environment). There is a short investigation day into a human environment which gives students the opportunity to build up case study knowledge of countryside or urban issues, linked to Unit 3.
Edexcel A Five day programme:
Geographical Skills in Natural and Human Environments
By the end of this programme students will have followed the route to enquiry to investigate a natural and human environment, giving them a choice of ‘write up’ options for their controlled assessment. They will also develop a range of geographical skills for Unit 1 and gain a greater understanding of content assessed within Unit 2 (The Natural Environment) and Unit 3 (The Human Environment).
Edexcel B Three day programme:
Researching Our Dynamic Planet
Students will research a physical environment (either coastal change or river processes), meeting the requirements of Section A of Unit 1 (Dynamic Planet) and in order to prepare them for the controlled assessment ‘write up’. This will be followed by a short investigation into a changing city environment or the changing countryside meeting the learning needs of students studying Section B of Unit 2 (People and the Planet).
