Outdoor Classroom
Coastal habitats include sheltered and exposed rocky shores, estuaries, salt marshes and mudflats, shingle ridges and cliff tops. All are within easy walking distance along with woodlands, grassland and freshwater habitats. Opportunities for physical and human geography are many and varied. Independent inspection in 2007 rated the centre’s teaching quality as “outstanding”. A new building was opened in 2007. Classrooms are equipped with ICT facilities including desk-top and lap-top PCs, digital projectors, inter-active white-boards and wireless internet access. Accommodation in the new building is en-suite and for 2008 there is a new Student Common Room. With our new en suite family rooms, it’s also the ideal place for a holiday course. The Centre also offers courses tailored for Irish schools - please see the Outdoor Classroom for Ireland section for more details.
FSC Programmes
The simplest and most often cost effective way of conducting fieldwork at an FSC centre is by booking one of our fixed length residential programmes. Find out more about FSC Programmes.
FSC Flexible Courses
