Photography
This section offers courses which can help you understand how to make more creative use of a camera and take better photographs. Many courses demonstrate how to get the best out of digital cameras and what to do with the images afterwards. On each course, demonstrations to explain theory and practical techniques are complemented by plenty of opportunities to take your own photographs, either in the Centre grounds or on excursions to sites of interest such as local villages or nature reserves.

Nature and Landscape |
Although you may already have some basic photographic experience, our tutors are happy to take time to explain techniques from first principles if necessary and courses are offered at three levels. Those for ‘beginners’ or for ‘improvers’ broadly reflect your previous experience of photography. In the Nature and Landscape Photography section most courses are ‘open to everyone’. Please note that film, chemicals, photographic paper and digital storage media are not included in most course fees. You will be advised which film and other materials to bring with you. At the end of a course a modest additional charge may be made to cover processing and printing costs.
